On 15 July 2018, H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, visited Anuban Wat Nong Khun Chat (Uthit Pittaya-karn) School in Uthai Thani Province and Anuban Nakornsawan School in Nakhon Sawan Province. Both schools belong to the the Young Ambassadors of Virtue Foundation’s network schools.
During the meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs and representatives of both schools, the Foreign Minister received a positive feedback on the Foundation’s initiative on the ‘Exchange of Friendship among T- CLMV Youth Project’’. The Project brings young Ambassadors of Virtue, teachers, and school executives on a visit to various countries, with the support of the Royal Thai Embassy and the Royal Thai Consulate-General located in those countries. Students from both of these schools were selected to participate in this Project and have visited Kansai, Japan, Yunnan Province, the People’s Republic of China, and the Philippines.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs said that ‘projects undertaken by the Foundation have received positive feedback since the beginning. Presently, the world is becoming smaller, it is necessary to teach children to be aware of what is happening around them, starting from developments in neighboring countries and expand to other countries around the world. We have to equip and train them, not only in building resilience but also to have social conscience and a sense of altruism. In the end, they should know how the world is changing and its inter-connectedness. Furthermore, the end result of the Project is to build up the quality of the next generation to have a conscience mind, able to learn and acknowledge new knowledge by themselves, have self-discipline, and be responsible for oneself, others, and the society.
On this occasion, the Minister of Foreign Affairs also awarded money to support the schools’ Sufficiency Economy Philosophy projects and gave teaching and learning materials, as well as sports equipments to both schools.
