32 Young Ambassadors of Virtue from 15 provinces of Thailand Visit Indonesia

Ambassador Don Pramudwinai, President of Young Ambassador of Virtue Project, led a delegation of Young Ambassadors of Virtue on a visit to Jakarta on 1 – 7 July 2013. The delegation included 21 young ambassadors of virtue, 4 teachers, 1 school director, 2 representatives of the Office of the Basic Education Commission, Director of Young Ambassadors of Virtue Foundation and 2 staff members. The Young Ambassadors were selected to join this visit from their participation in the “Save the World, Save the Land” camp between 15 – 22 April 2013.

The Royal Thai Embassy in Jakarta has coordinated for the delegation to meet with students from Junior High School 58, which is a school under the Young Ambassador of Virtue Foundation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia. The visit allowed for the exchanges of knowledge, culture, and fostered good friendship among youths of the two nations.

The delegation also paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Paskorn Siriyaphan, Ambassador of Thailand to Indonesia, H.E. Mr. Suvat Chirapant, Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN, and H.E. Mr. Le Luong Minh, Secretary-General of ASEAN. The delegation also visited the ASEAN Secretariat. The visit has broadened the youths’ vision and inspired them to be good persons and an important workforce in driving ASEAN.

The delegation visited important places of Indonesia, such as Gedong Pancasila at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia, Istiqlal Mosque, National Museum of Indonesia, the Center for International Forestry Research, Taman Safari, and Taman mini. At Taman mini, they learnt about natural resources and environment conservation at the Oil & Gas Museum and the Electricity & New Energy Museum and about multiculturalism and Indonesian traditions.
