About Us



1999

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs initiated the “Young Ambassadors of Virtue” Project in 1999 in commemoration of the Sixth Cycle (72nd) Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej. From the outset, 76 pilot primary schools, representing all provinces in Thailand, took part in the project which involved several moral development activities.


2001

Inspired by the King’s guidance and vision, the Young Ambassadors of Virtue Project aims to develop social and moral qualities in Thai youth. On 16 January 2001, the Cabinet declared the project a model for national human resource development.


2004

Since 27 March 2004, the Young Ambassadors of Virtue Project has been under the Royal Patronage of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.


2006

The “Youth: Vitality of the Nation” campaign, adopted in 2006 enabled the Young Ambassadors of Virtue Project to expand and encompass the secondary school level. Underlying its goal is to instill a sense of values and social responsibility among Thai youth.


2007

The Young Ambassadors of Virtue Project was registered as the “Young Ambassadors of Virtue Foundation” on 3 April 2007. The number of schools in the project network has increased enormously from 76 in 1999 to 2,154 in 2012
