Through cooperation with Friends of Young Ambassadors of Virtue Foundation (YAVF) and other partner organizations, the Young Ambassadors of Virtue Foundation continued to undertake projects with an emphasis on human resource development, designed to enhance the individual’s capacity and ability to compete and tackle challenges in the globalized world. This is indeed the shared responsibility of all sectors in Thailand and their concerted efforts are required to achieve this important task.
Friends of YAVF
The Crown Property Bureau Foundation lent its support to the “Campaign to Promote Virtues among Young Thais” for the second year through its sponsorship of the“Cities of Virtues” mobile exhibition, expanding and deepening the Foundation’s reach to remote areas in all regions of Thailand.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs played a major role in contributing to the work of the Foundation by providing financial support on anannual basis as wellas additional Funds when necessary. This support affirms the Ministry’s role as a responsible member of the society in developing and shaping the young generation and building a strong foundation for society.
The Department of Information For several years, the Department of Information of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been conducting Buakaew outreach trips to provinces in all the regions of Thailand. The outreach project allows the Ministry toinform the public and improve their understanding about foreign policies. The trips provide an opportunity for the Ministry to directly connect with the public, enabling them to take part in policy making and implementation. This principle of engaging with people from all sectors is called “foreign affairs of the people”.
he Department of ASEAN Affairs has been organizing the “ASEAN Library” project since 2014.The aim of the project is to establish ASEAN libraries in schools that meet the criteria of having 300 or more students and actively engage in ASEAN-related activities.
The Royal Thai Embassies and Consulates abroad played an essential role in providing support during the Young Ambassadors of Virtue’s visits under the “Broadening the Young Ambassadors of Virtue’s Perspectives” Project. They helped facilitate the organization of trips by giving programme advice, selecting appropriate local schools, giving a warm welcome to the delegations, and making sure that the visits went smoothly. With the assistance of the Royal Thai Embassies and Consulates, the delegations had the opportunity to pay courtesy calls on the Ambassadors, the Consul-Generals, and local high-ranking officials in those countries. The visits also allowed the Young Ambassadors to learn about the responsibilities and work of staff and officers at the Royal Thai Embassies and Consulates. Many were even inspired to become future diplomats.
Volunteers from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs joined the Foundation in empowering Thai youth by participating in all activities organized by the Foundation to broaden perspectives and to inspire and pride among the Young Ambassadors, as they represent Thailand in fostering relations with young people around the world. The Foundation owes much of its success to the support and the dedication of several volunteers and officers of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Private Sector has become noticeably more active in developing their CSR programmes. This provided a good opportunity for interested private companies to become Friends of YAVF by sponsoring the Foundation’s activities which aim to create opportunity and yield benefits to schools and students in all provinces of Thailand. Private companies may inform the Foundation of the types of activities they would like to sponsor by contacting the Foundation directly at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
