48 Young Ambassadors of Virtue from 13 Southern Provinces of Thailand Visit Malaysia

H.E. Ms. Chantipha Phutrakul, Director of Young Ambassador of Virtue Foundation, led a delegation of 48 Young Ambassadors of Virtue from 13 Southern Provinces of Thailand on a visit to Penang and Kedah, Malaysia on 24 – 29 June 2013. The delegation included 33 young ambassadors of virtue, 1 school director, 9 teachers, 2 representatives of the Office of the Basic Education Commission and 2 staff members.

The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Penang has coordinated for the delegation to meet with two leading schools in the area which are St. George Girl School and SMK Bukit Jambul. The visit allowed for the exchanges of knowledge and experience and left a great impression among students of both sides. The visit has broadened students’ vision and fostered good friendship among youths of the two nations. As part of a cultural exchange, the delegation performed a cappella in Thai, English, and Bahasa Malaysia.

The delegation also paid a courtesy call on Professor Dr. Ramasamy Palanisamy Deputy Chief Minister of Penang, in change of education portfolio and had the opportunity to interact with high level executive members of Penang. The visit has inspired the youths to be diligent in their studies for their future endeavors and instilled a sense of moral obligation to be good persons in the society.

The visit to Malaysia of the Youth Ambassadors was a successful trip. The delegation visited many important sites in Penang such as Penang Hill, Peranakan Mansion, and the Universiti Sains Malaysia Museum and Gallery. This learning experience has opened their mindset and allowed them to learn from various good models in improving and adapting to new changes and conditions. It has also built up their confidence and encouraged them to become a good role model in the society.
