The Royal Thai Consulate in Osaka, in collaboration with the Young Ambassadors of Virtue Foundation, organized a visit to the Kansai Region of the Young Ambassadors of Virtue. The delegation consists of 5 Ambassadors of Virtue and 1 supervisor teacher from 6 schools in 6 provinces (Nan, Khon Khaen, Chantaburi, Petchaburi and Yala). These are 5th – 6th grade students, with the average age between 11 – 12 years old, selected from schools in the Foundation’s network. Prior to the visit, the Foundation arranged a preparatory session for the students to help get them ready for the visit. The students also paid a courtesy call to the Thai Minister of Foreign Affairs.

During the visit, the Royal Thai Consulate arranged for the delegation to pay a courtesy call to Mr. Dusit Menaphant, the Consul-General. The delegation also visited Ooyamazaki Junior High School in the Ooyamazaki District and Kabutoyama in the Kumihama District of Kyotango Town. The Young Ambassadors of Virtue shared experiences and built friendship with their Japanese counterparts. They also displayed their various abilities by performing Thai traditional dance and singing Japanese songs, which were truly admired by their Japanese friends.

During the trip, the Ambassadors of Virtue stayed with their Japanese host families, allowing them to experiences and be exposed to the authentic ways of lives in Japan. They also participated in cultural exchange activities through food and national costumes, a good opportunity for them to present Thailand to the Japanese people. Additionally, the Young Ambassadors visited several important sites in Osaka, Kyoto and Nara such as Osaka Castle, Fushimi Shrine, Todaiji Temple and other popular neighborhoods, namely Namba and Shinsaibashi. They studied the tea-making process at Fukujuen.

This project is an initiative of the Royal Thai Consulate in Osaka, and demonstrates a close cooperation between the Royal Thai Consulate and the Foundation with the shared goal to encourage youth participation in the celebration of the 130th anniversary of the Thailand-Japan relation, empowering the current young generation to be the vital strength of the nation with internationally competitive spirit. The project owes much of its success to the support of the Royal Thai Consulates and all their staff.
