The Embassy of India in Bangkok, in cooperation with the Young Ambassadors of Virtue foundation, organized a visit to Thailand for 10 middle-school and high-school students, and 2 teachers from 2 leading schools in India, which are Sarar Patel Vidyalaya in New Delhi, and Mayo College (an all girls’ school) in the northwestern part of India. The visit took place between 10 – 18 January 2016. This visit is part of an exchange visit program, carried out under an MOU on academic exchange program between the Royal Thai Embassy in India and the Embassy of India in Bangkok.

The students paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Chaisiri Anamarn, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs to Thailand, and Mr. Sek Wannamethee, Director-General of the Department of Information. The students were also featured in the Young Ambassadors of Virtue radio program, and visited several sites including Pratumnak Suankularb School to learn and exchange knowledge with Thai students on cultures and music, and Royal projects in Chitralada Villa Royal Residence.

As the students paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Harsh Vardhan Shringla, the Ambassador of India to Thailand, H.E. Mr. Shringla stated his support on the exchange program. He views that this is an exemplary program that should be continued year after year to foster friendship of students on both sides. The Foundation can consider a possibility to rotate participating Indian schools in the next visit.

The visit program to Thailand was a successful trip. The program allowed students from Thailand and India to foster their friendship as well as exchange knowledge and experiences, and contributed to enhancing positive relations between the two countries.
