The Delegation of the Young Ambassadors of Virtue Project Visiting the Kingdom of Cambodia

The Young Ambassadors of Virtue Foundation (YAVF), in collaboration with the Royal Thai Embassy in Phnom Penh, organized a study trip to the Kingdom of Cambodia on 7 – 14 July 2018. The delegation, led by the Director of YAVF, consisted of 32 Young Ambassadors of Virtue, 8 teachers, 2 school directors, 2 YAVF officers, and 1 volunteer. The Young Ambassadors of Virtue were specially selected from schools in the Foundation’s network, and they are 4th – 9th grade students from 27 schools all around the country.

The delegation firstly paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Panyarak Poolthup, Ambassador of Thailand to the Kingdom of Cambodia, and Dr. Khuon Vicheka, Deputy Director General of Department of Education, Ministry of Education of the Kingdom of Cambodia. The delegation had visited three different schools in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap so as to build the good relationships as well as exchange their learning experiences with local students – those schools are Baktouk Primary School, Preah Sisowath High School, and Wat Bo Primary School. In addition, they visited the Department of Thai Language, Institute of Foreign Language, Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP) which is the program under the technical cooperation between the Kingdom of Thailand and the Kingdom of Cambodia, under Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand.

The delegation, furthermore, experienced Khmer civilization at UNESCO World Heritage Site and several remarkable places such as Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, National Museum of Cambodia, Angkor National Museum and etc. The project owed much of its success to the support of the Royal Thai Embassy. This brought about such a great inspiration to the Young Ambassadors of Virtue to become a good role model in the society.
