The Delegation of the Young Ambassadors of Virtue Project Visiting the Lao People’s Democratic Republic

The Young Ambassadors of Virtue Foundation, in collaboration with the Royal Thai Embassy in Vientiane, organized a visit to Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR) during 16 – 23 September 2018. The delegation led by H.E. Mr. Chaisiri Anamarn, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, comprised of 35 participants including the Director of Young Ambassadors of Virtue Foundation, 22 Young Ambassadors of Virtue, 6 teachers, 3 school directors, and 2 officers from the foundation. The participants are 4th – 9th grade students representing 17 schools from 11 provinces of Central Thailand.

During the visit, H.E. Mr. Chaisiri Anamarn led the delegation to pay a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Kietikhun Chartprasert, Ambassador of Thailand to the Lao PDR, Dr. Kongsi Sangmanee, Minister of Education and Sports of the Lao PDR, and Dr. Wongpet Udomlit, Deputy Head of Department of Education and Sports in Luang Prabang. In addition, the delegation had a great opportunity to exchange their knowledge and foster relationship between the two countries with three different secondary schools in Vientiane and Luang Prabang. Those schools are Lycee De Vientiane School, Suntiphap School (STP), and Truong Trung Hoc Pho Thong Pong Kham School.

The delegation, moreover, experienced the country’s history, cultures, and religion through archaeological sites, museums, and famous temples such as Wat Xieng Thong, Wat Si Saket, Wat Phou Si, Haw Phra Kaew, Haw Phra Bang, Royal Palace Museum in Luang Prabang, and so on. This visit to the Lao PDR was a successful project due to the great support from the Royal Thai Embassy in Vientiane. This learning opportunity served as an inspiration for the Young Ambassadors of Virtue to consistently improve themselves and to become a good role model of the nation.
