The Young Ambassadors of Virtue Foundation, in collaboration with the Royal Thai Embassy in Manila, organized a visit to the Republic of the Philippines on 23 – 28 October 2018. The delegation, led by Mr. Thani Thongphakdi, Deputy Permanent Secretary, consisted of 33 people including Mrs. Usana Wongnarkpet, Human Resources Officer Expert, 20 Young Ambassadors of Virtue, 6 teachers, 3 school directors, and 2 officers from the Foundation. The delegation represented 20 schools from 20 provinces all around the country. These representative youths are 5th – 6th grade students selected from schools in the Foundation’s network.

During the visit, Mr. Thongphakdi led the delegation to pay a courtesy call on Hon. Leonor Magtolis Briones, Secretary of the Department of Education, and Mr. Jesus L.R. Mateo, Undersecretary of the Department of Education. He also led the delegation to visit 2 private schools in Manila, which are the Integrated Montessori Center and OB Montessori Center. The delegation, furthermore, learned and experienced Filipino history, cultures, and religion through a wide range of archaeological sites and museums, such as the National Museum of Natural History, Mind Museum, Rizal Park, Fort Santiago, San Agustin Church, Casa Manila and etc.

This visit to the Philippines would not been a successful trip without the great support from the Royal Thai Embassy in Manila. This unforgettable experience served as an inspiration for the Young Ambassadors of Virtue to constantly enhance themselves to become a good role model for the society.
