The Young Ambassadors of Virtue Foundation (YAVF), in collaboration with the Royal Thai Embassy in Yangon, organized a visit to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar on 5– 12 August 2018. The delegation, led by the Director of YAVF, consisted of 30 people including 19 Young Ambassadors of Virtue, 5 teachers, 3 school directors, and 2 officers from the Foundation. The Young Ambassadors of Virtue were selected from 14 schools in 10 different provinces of Northern and Eastern Thailand.

During the visit, the delegation paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Jukr Boon-long, Ambassador of Thailand to Myanmar and Dr. U Myo Thein Gyi, Union Minister of Education of Myanmar, as well as other Educational Executives of Myanmar. Furthermore, they had visited three different schools in Yangon, Naypyidaw and Mandalay, as well as another university in Mandalay with the aim to strengthen their relationship and exchange experiences between the two cultures. Those are No. 1 Basic Education Middle School, Thailand – Myanmar Friendship School, No. 7 Basic Education Middle School, Chan Aye Thar Zan, and Department of Thai Language, University of Foreign Languages (MUFL). The delegation, moreover, learned Myanmar’s history, cultures, and religion through archaeological sites, museums and many well-known Buddhist temples such as Shwedagon Pagoda, Mahamuni Buddha Temple, Kuthodaw Pagoda, and National Museum in Yangon and Naypyidaw.

The visit to Myanmar was a success due to the generous support from the Royal Thai Embassy in Yangon. This learning opportunity served as an inspiration for the Young Ambassadors of Virtue to consistently improve themselves and to become a good role model in the society.
