The Department of Information For several years, the Department of Information of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been conducting Buakaew outreach trips to provinces in all the regions of Thailand. The outreach project allows the Ministry toinform the public and improve their understanding about foreign policies. The trips provide an opportunity for the Ministry to directly connect with the public, enabling them to take part in policy making and implementation. This principle of engaging with people from all sectors is called “foreign affairs of the people”.
Activities during each Buakaew outreach trip include a visit to the Young Ambassadors of Virtue Foundation’s network schools. Each school receives financial sponsorship worth 30,000 baht to support their foreign affairs related exhibitions and activities. To date, 15 schools in 15 provinces have been visited as part of the Buakaew outreach trips.
