The Royal Thai Embassy in Moscow, together with the Young Ambassadors of Virtue Foundation, implemented the project “The Study Visit to Enhance Learning Experiences and Foster Goodwill of Young Ambassadors of Virtue Batch 2” in the Russian Federation from 31 August – 9 September 2024. The group of 10 Young Ambassadors of Virtue comprised 8 students and 2 teachers from 10 schools in 10 different provinces from every region in Thailand.

For the visit, the delegation paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Sasiwat Wongsinsawat, Ambassador of Thailand to the Russian Federation, at the Royal Thai Embassy, Moscow, and got acquainted and exchanged their learning experiences with students from a primary school in Moscow and Thai-major students from 2 universities as follows:

1. Pokrovsky Quarter School, Moscow

2. Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO)

3. Department of Thai Language, Faculty of Asian and African Studies, St. Petersburg University

They also visited the Land of the Emerald Buddha exhibition, which showcased drawings inspired by the beauty of Thai culture by Mr. Zurab Tseretelli, a leading Russian artist, at Tsereteli Art Gallery. As representatives of Thai youths, they presented Thai performances, including Khon dance, Muay Thai, the playing of Chinese cymbalo, and Thai traditional dance. This trip also provided an opportunity for them to learn about state-of-the-art technologies, history, and Russian culture from visiting museums and landmarks as follows:

Moscow: The group visited Red Square and Moscow Kremlin Museums and learned about Russian arts at Tsereteli Art Gallery, Moscow Planetarium and Mosfilm, Russian’s film studio producing old films.

St. Petersburg: They had a chance to visit the Hermitage Museum and Peterhof State Museum to learn about the establishment of Thai–Russian relations during the reign of King Rama 5th and Russian arts at Church of Savior on the Spilled Blood,St. Isaac’s Cathedral, and Russian Museum of Ethnography.

This project is a continuation of the collaboration between the Young Ambassadors of Virtue Foundation and the Royal Thai Embassy in Moscow, which offered an opportunity for the Young Ambassadors of Virtue to broaden their horizons for the 2nd year, in the celebration of the 127th anniversary of the establishment of Thai–Russian diplomatic relations, befriended Russian youths, and presented Thai culture, contributing to the strengthening of the bond between young people of both countries.
