A delegation of 5 Young Ambassadors of Virtue and 1 teacher from 6 schools in 5 provinces of Thailand visited Indonesia on 15 – 23 January 2015. The Young Ambassadors of Virtue were selected to join this visit from their participation in the energy conservation camp which was held in October 2014.

This visit demonstrates an excellent example of cooperation between a Royal Thai Embassy and the Young Ambassador of Virtue Foundation. The Royal Thai Embassy in Jakarta sponsored travel costs for the delegation, and provided support for the delegation throughout the visit. The Ambassador of Thailand to Indonesia and his spouse coordinated for the delegation to visit Sekolah Dasar Negeri (SDN) Menteng 01 : SDN Besuki, the school where President Obama attended when he resided in Indonesia. The Young Ambassadors of Virtue also exchanged learning experiences and cultural performances with Indonesian students. This exposure inspired the Young Ambassadors of Virtue to continue to sharpen their knowledge and enhance their skills.

This visit had proved to be very successful. The participating students paid a visit to important sites in Jakarta, Bogor and Bandung, such as Taman Mini, National Museum, Taman Safari and Asia-Africa Conference Museum, etc. The delegation also had a courtesy call on the Permanent Mission of Thailand to ASEAN, which allowed them to obtain a better understanding on ASEAN and the upcoming ASEAN Community.
