The Royal Thai Consulate in Osaka, in collaboration with the Young Ambassadors of Virtue Foundation, organized a visit to Kansai for the selected group of Young Ambassadors of Virtue during 29 September – 9 October 2017, as part of activities to celebrate and commemorate the 130th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Thailand and Japan. This is also the second year that the Royal Thai Consulate in Osaka and the Young Ambassadors of Virtue Foundation has organised such visit, with a view to foster friendship and strengthen people-to-people relation between the Thai and Japanese youth through various cultural and educational activities.

5 Young Ambassadors of Virtue (6th and 7th grade with average age of 12 – 13 years old) and 1 supervisor teacher from 6 schools in 6 provinces (Nakhorn Pathom, Nontaburi, Chainat, Uthai Thani, Chaiyaphum and Sri Saket) participated in this visit.

The abovementioned delegation paid a courtesy call to the Consul-General. They also paid a visit to Kouyou Primary School, during which the Young Ambassadors of Virtue had a chance to meet new friends, a beginning step towards a long-lasting friendship at the youth level between the two nations.

The delegation stayed at Japanese host families, allowing them to learn about Japanese ways of lives. They also participated in cultural and food exchange activities, and visited various important landmarks and historical sites in Osaka, Kyoto and Nara.

Upon their return to Thailand, YAVF group discussed their experiences and shared things they learned during the trip on “Young Ambassadors of Virtue On Air” program, which airs on Saranrom Radio, AM 1575 kHz.
