The Patrons Project between the Embassy of India to Thailand and Anubanratchaburi School in Ratchaburi Province

The Young Ambassadors of Virtue Foundation, together with the Department of South Asia, Middle East, and African Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, organized a Patrons Project between the Embassy of India to Thailand and Anubanratchaburi School in Ratchaburi Province. Ms. Dao Vibulpanich, Deputy Director- General, Department of South Asian, Middle East and African Affairs and H.E. Mr. Chayawut Jantorn, Governor of Ratchaburi Province welcomed H.E. Mrs. Suchitra Durai, Ambassador of India to Thailand to the School, and all presided over the Opening Ceremony on 17 February 2020.

The Patrons Project comprised the ‘Week of Learning’ activity to widen the students’ knowledge about the Patron Country and the visit by the Embassy to foster friendship between the School and the Embassy.

The Anubanratchaburi School organized an ‘India Week’ from 21 January – 17 February 2020 by providing information about India through the school’s AR news radio channel every morning. A Learning Through Film activity and Question and Answer competition were also held. Furthermore, at the Opening Ceremony, students from various grades organized an exhibition showcasing India from all dimensions, such as arts and culture and important places in India. A workshop between Thailand and India on Thai and Indian traditional dances and food and jar demonstrations also took place.

On this visit, the Ambassador of India to Thailand, complimented the students on their eagerness and their ability to answer questions about India, their performance of Indian dance, and their presentations about India. This Patrons Project contributed greatly to building friendship between the School and the Embassy, which will translate to more knowledge and cultural exchange activities in the future.
