On 6 September 2024, Mr. Wu Zhiwu, Charge d’affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Thailand, presented scholarships worth 715,000 baht to H.E. Mr. Nathapol Khantahiran, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ms. Chantipha Phutrakul, Director of the Young Ambassadors of Virtue Foundation, to support five schools under the Young Ambassadors of Virtue Foundation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. They are Ban Don (Sri Serm Kasikorn) School in Nan, Anuban Phichit School in Phichit, Thanyasitthisin School in Pathum Thani, Ban Tha Maka School in Kanchanaburi, and Ubonwittayakom School in Ubon Ratchathani.
On this occasion, Mr. Wu Zhiwu said it was a great honour to present the scholarships to the Young Ambassadors of Virtue Foundation again and thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for giving importance to the Chinese Embassy and those who need the scholarships.
It was a good project that encourages children to be the future of the nation and promotes the strengthening of the Thai-Chinese relations. Thailand is a good neighbour and a good partner to China and shares familial relations, which is why it is important to continue the strengthening of the relations.
Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs thanked the Chinese Embassy, which is like a friend to Thailand, for presenting the scholarships to schools under the Young Ambassadors of Virtue Foundation, which is the only foundation that has its reach to young people nationwide and promotes the awareness of China in all students.
Director Chantipha thanked the Chinese Embassy for its support, which has granted over 500 scholarships totaling 2.3 million baht in value. The scholarships were distributed to students and 57 schools in 10 provinces in all regions. Nowadays, many schools teach Chinese for one hour to students from class levels 1 – 6. Students can communicate fluently in Chinese. The scholarships serve as a motivation for students to learn Chinese as it is a bridge for the strengthening of relations and a way to befriend the Chinese in the future. The Foundation welcomes more opportunities to collaborate with the Chinese Embassy to expand the outcomes of Chinese learning.
