The Young Ambassadors of Virtue and the Royal Thai Embassy, Wellington, implemented the Project to Enhance Learning Experiences and Foster Goodwill among Young Ambassadors of Virtue in New Zealand during 4-15 December 2023. The Delegation comprised 7 members – 6 students and 1 teacher – from 7 schools in 7 provinces. They were selected from the New Virtue Generation with Sufficiency Economy into the International World Camp, held at Sirindhorn International Environmental Park in Phetchaburi in April 2023.

During the visit, the Delegation paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Waravuth Pouapinya, Ambassador of Thailand to New Zealand. They also helped prepare meals for the underprivileged as part of a volunteer service for the common good on the occasion of National Day and Father’s Day, together with the Ambassador, government officials, and the Embassy staff.

The Young Ambassadors of Virtue Foundation exchanged learning experiences with the following 4 elementary and secondary school students in Wellington and Auckland:

1. Raumati Beach School 2. Thorndon School

3. Maidstone Intermediate School 4. Northcross Intermediate School

The Delegation also picked up the local way of life by staying with a host family in New Zealand and learned about modern innovations, history, and cultures of New Zealand by visiting museums and landmarks in Wellington, Rotorua, and Auckland, such as Museum of New Zealand Te Papa, Wellington Cable Car Museum, Zealandia, Lake Taupo, the Agrodome, the Maori Village, Hobbiton, the All Blacks Experience, and Auckland Zoo.

The said project, which is an initiative of the Royal Thai Embassy, Wellington, marks a form of collaboration between the Embassy and the Foundation that offers young people an opportunity to receive education at schools that offers a creative learning experience, which in turn could inspire students in the Delegation to pass on what they learned and extend their passions by coming to New Zealand to study in the future. The Embassy’s support was crucial to the visit’s success.
