The Young Ambassadors of Virtue Foundation, together with the Royal Thai Embassy in Moscow, held the “Young Ambassadors of Virtue Visit Russian Federation Project” during 29 August – 9 September 2023, which was joined by 7 students in grades 6 – 9 and 2 teachers from schools in the Young Ambassadors of Virtue Foundation’s network.
During the visit, the Young Ambassadors of Virtue paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Sasiwat Wongsinsawat, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Russian Federation, at the Royal Thai Embassy in Moscow, and learned about the Thai – Russian relations and how the Thai government officials in each division at the Embassy work.
In addition, the Young Ambassadors of Virtue visited 2 major cities in Russia, which are Moscow and Saint Petersburg, where they met with Russian government officials. The group also visited School No. 1520 in Moscow and Academic Gymnasium No. 56 in Saint Petersburg, as well as exchanging views with Russian students from the Thai language study programme, Faculty of Asian and African Studies at Saint Petersburg University. The Young Ambassadors of Virtue also performed talent shows, such as singing, Nora dancing, and Muay Thai, and learned about modern technologies and history and culture of Russia through visits to museums and landmarks, including Red Square, Tsereteli Art Gallery, Museum of Theatrical and Musical Art, Technograd, Planetarium Moscow, Church of the Savior on the Spilled Blood, Smolny Historical and Memorial Museum, and Peterhof State Museum.
The “Young Ambassadors of Virtue Visit Russian Federation Project” was initiated by H.E. Mr. Sasiwat Wongsinsawat, with the support of the Young Ambassadors of Virtue Foundation. The Project is aimed at providing opportunities for Thai youth to learn about the Thai – Russian relations, which have been strong for 126 years. During this visit to Russia, Thai youth are able to exchange and disseminate Thai culture, as well as broaden the Young Ambassadors of Virtue’s perspectives and knowledge.
