On 15 August 2025, Mr. Wu Zhiwu, Charge d’affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Thailand, presented scholarships worth 675,000 baht to H.E. Mr. Chettaphan Maksamphan, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ms. Chantipha Phutrakul, Director of the Young Ambassadors of Virtue Foundation, to support five schools under the Young Ambassadors of Virtue Foundation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. They are Anuban Watphichaisongkram School in Samutprakarn, Anuban Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya School in Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya, Anuban Wat Sakaeo School in Sakaeo, Anuban Yala in Yala, and Ban Su-gnai Kolok School in Narathiwat.
On this occasion, Mr. Wu Zhiwu said it was a great honour to present the scholarships and made a small contribution to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which engages with schools under the Young Ambassadors of Virtue Foundation. The Foundation organised activities for schools and took students to China. More importantly, students got the opportunity to learn about the development of Thai-Chinese relations at an early age. Hopefully, students who participated in the Foundation’s activities will be more familiarised with Chinese and the longstanding and robust Thai-Chinese relations. Students also showed commitment to make contributions to enhance such relations in the future. Mr. Wu Zhiwu expressed delight that young people had shown such commitment. The souvenirs presented by the schools are tokens of appreciation for their participation in the Foundation’s activities, which the Chinese Embassy attaches importance to.
Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs thanked the Chinese Embassy for the continued and robust cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Young Ambassadors of Virtue Foundation and said the Young Ambassadors of Virtue represent the country. At the same time, they also represent the relations. Once grown, they will strengthen the Thai-Chinese relations, which stays true to Thailand and China’s familial spirits. The Young Ambassadors of Virtue Foundation also serves as a bridge between young Thai and international people, preparing them to be global citizens and encouraging them to expand their worldview through first-hand experiences. Students will be motivated to learn, develop admiration, and share their stories with friends, families, and communities.
Director Chantipha thanked the Chinese Embassy for its continued scholarship support. Students who were granted the scholarships show commitment to be hardworking and moral students and are motivated to carry on with confidence. They also show readiness to study Chinese. The Chinese side and the Foundation’s collaborations have resulted in various projects. Hopefully, the exchanges of learning and cooperation will come to fruition and expand further at all levels, whether it is sponsorship or exchanges and visits at the youth levels.
